Riyadh - January 4, 2023
Saudi Arabia's National Museum announced today that it will reopen its doors and resume its activities on Thursday, January 19, after its rehabilitation due to the partial fire of one of its halls last June. Lately, the museum management has followed all official procedures related to the incident, rehabilitated the internal hall damaged by the fire, and improved all means of security and safety in the museum. These procedures aimed to ensure a safe museum experience for all visitors and tourists and enable them to enjoy an informational and historical trip, with the museum halls containing rich information and archaeological exhibits of different historical eras of the Arabian Peninsula.
Established in 1990 on the eastern side of the King Abdul Aziz Historical Center in Al-Murabba district of Riyadh, the National Museum building is divided into eight halls showcasing the natural, human, cultural, political, and religious development of the Arabian Peninsula and the Saudi state through 3,500 antiquities, in addition to numerous artistic models, figurative works, and films.
