National Museum Presents Exciting May Events in Celebration of International Museum Day

Riyadh, May 1, 2023

The National Museum has announced that it will host a series of events in May to commemorate International Museum Day, which occurs annually on May 18. The events will extend from May 18 to 19, with visiting hours starting from 8 to 10 pm on Thursday and from 5 pm to 10 pm on Friday.

The activities include an International Museum Day celebration, as well as three cultural panel sessions and workshops. All of these events cover a variety of topics, including the “Museum as a Community Activator” panel, which discusses the legacy of museums and their impact on society through humanitarian and artistic axes that consider mental and social health. To highlight the Museum’s role in fostering creative experience and inspiration, a panel session titled “The Museum as an Inspirational Source” will be held. Another panel session titled “The Arabian Peninsula as an Open Museum” will be held to showcase the truth about the beauty inherent in this territory and to tell the stories of the deeply rooted heritage therein. In addition, two workshops titled “The Past as a Stretched Rope” will be held for adults and young people to consider the relationship between the past and present.

These events are part of the programs organized by the National Museum, which target different groups of society. These events feature live performances, workshops, panel sessions, and other activities associated with national events. The objective is to provide both engaging cultural content and a cohesive museum experience.
