The National Museum announces its Programs in March to offer a Unique Cultural Experience

Riyadh - March 2, 2023

The National Museum of Saudi Arabia announced today a pack of programs and workshops in March to offer a unique cultural experience to visitors. They will include seven seminars and four workshops held in partnership with the French luxury jewelry brand Van Cleef & Arpels and the Royal Polytechnic Institution under the titles Create Your Own Jewel, Make Your Own Treasure Chest, and Traditional Wood Carving. Seminars aim at discussing topics like “Time in Poems and Science” to discover secrets of many worlds and “The Kingdom’s Natural Beauty: Treasures and Adventures” to highlight nature’s effect on the kingdom’s artistic side. “Flora in Jewelry Arts” is another seminar displaying the “flora” book published by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris in cooperation with L’ÉCOLE School of Jewelry Arts to reveal secrets of jewelry dating back to the 17th century and other eras.

Also, museum visitors can enjoy stories of love inspired by the most famous stories across history, like “Qays and Layla” and “Antar and Abla,” and experience timeless and contemporary love stories in an evening moderated by Sanaa Al-Saad, who will host the poet, Fathia Ajlan. Workshops are mainly about woodcarving using traditional inscriptions, where participants are taken on tours to observe the types of inscriptions inside the museum. For kids, the National Museum of Saudi Arabia organizes two workshops: one about guidelines for making jewelry by taking inspiration from the surrounding mosaic rhinestones, and the other about exploring ways to design watches on real wood surfaces. These events come as part of the programs organized by the National Museum that target different segments of society through interactive events. These events include live performances, workshops, seminars and activities related to national events to provide engaging cultural content and an integrated museum experience.
