What is a business incubator?

    It's an extensive program that aims to support business ideas and enable startups to enter and compete in the market, by providing a wide array of services and resources, including co-working spaces, required equipment, subject-matters experts and mentors that offer guidance and consultancy throughout the entire incubation duration of 4-6 months.

What are the key benifits of joining the program?

    The culinary arts incubator offers a complete and comprehensive support program aimed at the chefs entrepreneurs and startup business owners in the food & beverage sector, to enable their innovative ideas and growing thier business, by providing an incubation program that provides an elite group of mentors and trainers and professional chefs guide and mentor, in addition to providing worskhops in the following fields: Business model, Business Plans, Feasablity Study, Team Building, Branding & Marketing, Packaging & Pricing, Sales Strategies, Supply Chain, Food quality and safety, in addition to providing a lively motivating space for entrepreneurs which will enable them to create & develop thier recipes in a fully equiped demo kitchen ready to be the sapce to innovate new concepts in both the saudi and international culinary arts, entrepreneurs can also test and asses the expenses of those recipes and concepts and the feasability to enter the market, lastly, linking the entrepreneurs with investors and financing entities throughout the incubation phase.

What are the 3 different programs offerings?

    Kawin - Culinary Arts Incubator Program

    The incubator program has 6 Cycles that will be repeated consecutively. Each cycle kicks off with a virtual competition that lasts for 3 days, targetting 50 participants in each competition. 20 out of 50 startups will be qualified to the incubator's phase, which will take place physically in Riyadh for 6 months at Misk City.     Chefs Challenge

    The challenge will last for 5 hours within the duration of a one day, physically targeting 8chefs in each challenge. For more information, please visit the incubator program page

    Kawin Lab

    The program duration is 5 days (Virtual workshops for three days focusing on the busniess aspect of starting a food venture and two days physically at Kawin demo kitchen to innovate and test recieps) This program argets 8 chefs each time. What are the incubator's program phases?

    The incubator program consists of two main phases that repeate in each cycle throughout the 6 cycles:

  • Virtual Competition Phase: the duration of this phase is 3 days, with the participation of 50 startup, 20 out of 50 startups will be qualified to the incubator phase
  • Physical Incubator & Demo Kitchen Phase: the duration of this phase is 2 months (Summer Program), with the participation of 20 startups

Who is the target audience?

  • Talented chefs who own a startup within the culinary arts sector
  • nnovative Entrepreneurs whithin the culinary arts sector

What are the terms & conditions to register in the program?

    Candidates must be:

  • Saudi and residing in the kingdom.
  • Candidates must be aged 18 & above.
  • Passionate about the culinary arts sector.
  • The ability to fully commit to all phases of the program.
  • Owns a product or a recipe in the culinary arts sector.

What are the required criteria's for qualifying to the virtual competition phase?

    RSelection criteria for the Virtual Competition Phase:

  • An innovative product/recipe
  • A clear and comprehensive pitch deck
  • Required documents:

  • The recipe document that includes the detailed written recipe (ingredients and quantities)
  • Production plan document that includes the adopted production plan throughout the creation of the product (images or videos)
  • The finalized product document that captures the finished product in the way it's meant to be presented

Where does the physical incubator program take place?

    The incubator program takes place at The City Hub in Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City.

Will the program offer certificates to its participants?

    The participants who fulfill the certificate requirements are granted a certificate for participating in each phase within the program.

What are the requirements to be granted a certificate in the program?

    The participants must commit to fully attend the entire duration of each phase in the program, and to provide the needed information as required.

Is it possible to join the program as a team?

    No, the program is designed to target chefs & entrepreneurs as individuals.

What are the commitments of the program?

Is there any mandatory fees required to join the program?

    No, the program has no fees.

Are travel and living expenses covered by the Culinary Arts Commission?

    No, The Culinary Arts Commission doesn't cover the travel and livinng expenses of the participants, however it will provide corporate rates for the participants.

In the case of not receiving an e-mail or a phone call from the program's team, what does that entail?

    Not recieving an e-mail or a phone call from the program's team means the participant is not qualified based on the requirments of the registration form.
