Our recipes are a reflection of our culture, intrinsically linked to the people of Saudi Arabia and passed down from generation to generation, preserving our heritage. Recognizing such inheritance as a valuable component of our culture, the Culinary Arts Commission relaunched its first initiative aimed at encouraging chefs and amateur cooks to document their cultural dishes and inherited recipes for archiving and preservation. Join us in “Our Culinary Legacy” Initiative and submit your region’s Seafood and Vegetarian recipes, whether you are a professional chef, an amateur cook, or simply a culinary enthusiast!
The initiative's first publication, the “Sufra: Saudi Feast” book, showcases traditional recipes from across the Kingdom's 13 regions in a single cookbook, presented in a modernized, elegant, and user-friendly format.
The book has received outstanding feedback and success and published in three languages for global distribution.
Following the immense success of our first book, “Sufra: Saudi Feast,” which won the prestigious Gourmand award in the “Best Hospitality” and “Best Arab Cuisine Cookbook” categories, the Culinary Arts Commission is eager to build on this achievement. We are launching the second phase of the “Our Culinary Legacy” initiative, which aims to document and preserve Seafood and Vegetarian dishes, with plans to publish them in two new books.
Benefiting from a unique location bordered by the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf—both rich in diverse and unique marine life—our culinary traditions have evolved significantly. Preserving techniques such as salting, cooling, and drying have led to a diverse and delicious array of unique Seafood cuisine.
