About The Competition

Based on the vision of the Ministry of Culture to support and sponsor the artistic and cultural sectors, the Visual Arts Commission, in association with the Ministry of Education, seeks to launch Artists of Tomorrow competition. It is a journey for artists from all stages of public, and private education, to give students the opportunity to discover one of the following fields of visual arts:

Drawing and Painting

All types of drawing and painting
(figurative art, abstract art, graffiti art, digital art, …)

Using different types of photography

Photography

Three dimensional artworks created using any type of material such as clay, paper, playdough, and others

Objectives

Raising awareness about visual arts

Motivating students to discover their artistic skills

Amplifying exposure to the visual arts

Encouraging students to engage in creativity through the visual arts

Important Information

Terms and Conditions

  • The conditions listed below include the terms and conditions of the Artists of Tomorrow competition and it is an integral part of it. Therefore, participation in the competition means acceptance and full compliance with these terms and conditions.
  • This competition is affiliated with the Visual Arts Commission under the Ministry of Culture and in partnership with the Ministry of Education and implemented by TAM Development LLC.
  • The competition organizer reserves the right to cancel, extend or amend the course, conditions, or provisions of the competition with the approval of the Ministry and its organizers and without prior notice to the participants and they have no right to object.
  • Any changes made to the competition will be published on the official website of the competition and through social media.
  • All submissions are subject to review to ensure their eligibility and compliance with the standards, general direction, and terms and conditions.
  • All participants must be agreed by the start and end dates for the submission of entries in all stages of the competition. The participant acknowledges that he or she has read and agreed to the terms and conditions of the competition before participating.
  • Submitting to the competition is an acknowledgment of acceptance of the terms and conditions.
  • Any submission is proven to infringe upon intellectual property or copyright, whether by theft or imitation, will be excluded either before or after the filtration process, and its owner will be subject to legal accountability. The filtration process is strict, and all details and rights of the submission will be checked. If one of the winners is found to have infringed upon copyright or committed plagiarism or a legal violation, he or she will be subject to accountability and will return the prize.
  • If the need arises, the organizer has the right to request more information or documents to support submission or verify its credibility.
  • At any stage of the competition, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not comply with the terms and conditions, the review process, or the general direction of the competition.
  • The participants are not allowed to cheat. If it is proven that a participant used fraudulent methods, he or she will be disqualified from the competition.
  • Winning the competition depends only on the skill and creativity of the participant without purchasing or using any external resources that help him or her to win.
  • Participation is open to elementary, intermediate, and high school students in the following five regions: Central Region, Western Region, Eastern Region, Al Bahah Region, and Jazan Region.
  • Competition organizers, members of the jury that review and judge the students' works, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate in the competition.
  • It is not permissible to submit the same work, copy it, repeat it, or share it with another participant and if that happens, the submission will be null and void.
  • The competition organizer has the right not to award the prize to the winner and choose an alternative winner if it appeared that the contestant is not qualified in accordance with the terms and conditions or the general direction of the competition.
  • The participant must commit to absolute integrity in all phases of the competition and is also obligated to attend (if required) all phases of the competition in person, as no person is allowed to take his place at any phase.
  • The participant has the right to participate in more than one track of the competition.
  • If a participant is excluded from the competition, the organizer has the right to choose an alternate participant. In this case, a participant is selected by the jury according to the same criteria on which the main participant was selected.
  • The participants must submit entries according to the competition schedule, and no submission will be accepted outside the specified time.
  • The participant guarantees that all information provided by him or her is correct, complete, and up-to-date.
  • The participant must have full authority to agree to these terms and conditions.
  • The organizers have the right to publish what they deem appropriate of the information entered by the participants during any phase of the competition for promotional purposes.
  • The organizers are committed not to disclose any personal information about the participants to any third party, except for legal claims or in cooperation with any government agency with a warrant.

Intellectual Property

  • The organizers will keep detailed files attached to the competition submission form.
  • To participate in the competition, the participant must agree to grant the rights to the organizers or any other body authorized to publish what it deems appropriate from the submissions on the competition website or in any other media, whether currently known or emerging in the future, which may include websites, cell phone, television, or radio. The participant also agrees to use it in the context of promotional activities and advertisements related to the organization of the competition, and the participant has also agreed to grant the organizers a non-exclusive and irrevocable license for the purpose of copying, publishing, transmitting or using the entries with the right to edit, modify, rearrange, cut and translate it for the purposes of the competition.
  • Entries must not violate any international or local rights, laws or provisions and in no way encourage their violation.
  • The organizers are not responsible before the authorities for any laws that the participant may have violated.

Legal Responsibility

  • The competition organizer is not responsible for any financial losses, or any damage incurred by the participant as a result of participating in the competition.
  • The competition organizer does not assume any responsibility of false information, inaccuracies, human errors, technical failures, loss, delay in transmission or deletion of data, malfunction of computer or network, or any other reasons that may prevent access to the site.

Jurisdiction

  • Any dispute that may arise due to the rules, conditions and provisions contained in this document shall be settled amicably. If an amicable solution is not possible, the two parties shall resort to the courts in accordance with the Saudi law. The arbitration is exclusively for the Saudi law and the jurisdiction is exclusively for the Saudi judicial authorities, without regard to the participant’s nationality.

  • What is Artists of Tomorrow competition?
  • It is an art competition under the supervision of the Visual Arts Commission of the Ministry of Culture, which aims to provide the opportunity for the students to share their ideas and creativity in the visual arts and encourage students to engage in creativity through the visual arts. This competition is the first season.

  • What is meant by Visual Arts?
  • Visual Arts are arts produced for aesthetic and intellectual purposes through which ideas and feelings are expressed, using imagination to create arts such as: Drawing, Photography, Sculpture.

  • What are the most important dates for the competition?
  • Registration: 09/01/2022- 10/02/2022

    Announcement: 03/04/2022 – 07/04/2022

  • Where will the competition take place?
  • The competition will be held remotely by submitting art works via the platform. The review, nomination and judging will be done electronically.

  • You can participate by visiting the competition’s official website page, clicking on the registration icon, and then filling out the registration form.

  • I can not find my school's name?
  • You must fill in all the required fields to see a list of school numbers, and in case you cannot find the name of your school, please contact the Tomorrow’s Artists team through the email: engage@moc.gov.sa

  • I forgot my password, how can I reset it?
  • Click on the "Login" button at the top of the main page, then click on "Forgot Password" and follow the steps.

  • I did not receive the activation email after registration, what should I do?
  • There may be a slight delay between completing the registration process and receiving the activation message. If the problem persists, please contact us through the email: engage@moc.gov.sa

    Eligibility

  • Who can participate?
  • Participation is open for students in the elementary, secondary, and high school who study in public and private education in the following five regions: Riyadh Region, Makkah Region, Eastern Region, Jazan Region, and Al Baha Region.

  • Do I have to be proficient in Visual Arts to participate in Tomorrow's Artists?
  • You don’t have to be proficient in visual arts fields to participate.

  • Is it possible to participate as a team?
  • No, participation is for individuals only.

  • Is it possible to participate with more than one submission?
  • Yes, you can participate with more than one submission.

    Participation

  • What are the tracks of the competition?
  • Drawing, photography, sculpture.

  • What are the conditions for participation in the competition?
  • - The age of the participant should be within the specified age groups from elementary school to high school.
    - The participant's personal information must be complete and correct.
    - The participating student must be among the geographical areas targeted for participation (Riyadh Region, Makkah Region, Eastern Region, Al Baha Region, and Jazan Region).
    - The submission should achieve the desired purpose of the challenge as it is presented in the platform.
    - The submission should be in accordance with public taste (compliant with the rules of Islamic law, does not spread hatred or racism and is not of a political nature).
    - The submissions must be prepared by the participating student, and no part of it was copied or stolen (this includes receiving help from parents or any other person).
    - Write #فنانو_الغد on the submission to ensure ownership.
    - The submission should be in the field of the visual arts (for example: drawing, photography, sculpture... etc.).

  • Do I have to abide by the conditions of the competition, and if I do not comply, what will be the consequences?
  • The conditions are mandatory, and the participant must comply with them when submitting the participation, bearing in mind that failure to comply with the conditions exposes the participant to exclusion from the competition.

  • What are the criteria for evaluating submissions?
  • - The idea of the submission is related to the competition and its challenges.
    - The innovative thinking process.
    - Artistic skills.
    - Artwork’s aesthetic value.

  • Can I edit the submission after I submitted?
  • It cannot be modified after it has been submitted.

  • How to submit the artwork?
  • Submissions are uploaded on the competition platform.

  • Can I submit my artwork by mail?
  • Submissions are only accepted on the competition platform.

  • What is the deadline for accepting submissions?
  • The last date for receiving submission is 31/03/2022.

    Evaluation and Selection of Winners

  • Who are the members of the judging committee ?
  • The judging committee consists of 6 experts, and they have been selected according to specific criteria:
    - Extensive experience in visual arts.
    - Experience in evaluating student artwork.
    - Experience in discovering students' talents in visual arts.

  • How do I know if my submission has been selected for the next stages?
  • If your submission is qualified to the next stage, you will receive an email or a phone call.

  • How will the winners be selected?
  • The judges will evaluate the submission and select the top based on the evaluation criteria.

  • What are the competition prizes?
  • For students: Art Surprise Kit - Medals - Virtual exhibition display.
    For schools, teachers and jury: Commemorative plaques - Certificates of appreciation.
